Redirect HTTP to HTTPS

Create /etc/ngix/sites-available/RedirectHTTPtoHTTPS.conf

enable it with ln -s /etc/ngix/sites-available/RedirectHTTPtoHTTPS.conf /etc/ngix/sites-available/RedirectHTTPtoHTTPS
Restart Nginx service: sudo service nginx restart

Password protected

Create a /etc/nginx/.htpasswd
